Derrek Phillips Beat Box

What happens when you mix one of the funkiest drummers in the world with a Neumann U67 and a tape machine?

This collection contains 100 unique drum loops, all from the imagination of Derrek Phillips, who has held down the groove for some of the biggest artists in soul, jazz, country, and funk.

Each loop is between 30-60 seconds long and covers a variety of tempos, sounds, and grooves; each designed to spark the imagination of producers, beat-makers, and songwriters.  All are royalty-free, and free to use for commercial use. 

This download also contains 82 one-shots of kicks, snares, percussion, toms, etc. all as WAV's, as well as for drum kit files mapped for Logic (EXS24), Ableton, and Kontakt (full version required) with a custom GUI.  

All sounds were recorded live to a 1" 8 track Mara tape machine, and utilized world class recording gear such as a Neumann U67 microphone, BAE 1084 preamps, a Retro Sea-Level compressor, a UA 1176, as well as crazier ideas such as running the drums through a guitar pedal board or even through a 1967 Fender Super Reverb amp.
